Emmaus Foundation, a charity organization started by the Catholic Missionary Rev. Fr. John Scalabrini (RIP), started and runs Bishop Cipriano Kihangire Senior Secondary school (BCKSSS) Bbiina. The founder’s vision was to give a chance of an education and a better future to the poor and the needy, specially from the surrounding impoverished neighborhoods of Luzira, Kirombe, Kisenyi, Kitintale, Mutungo etc; BCKSSS has come to be known widely in the city and nationally, due to its consistent academic excellence. It is a school known for the best modern learning environment in Uganda with a strong christian foundation, among other attributes. It is a school that is now constantly being eyed by students who are able to raise school fees, alongside the poor children, in whom the founder’s initial plan was mostly in their favour; and as such, the balance has made the school progress as fast as possible in many ways and on different fronts.
The entire students’ population now stands at well over 2800 and the figure is still growing
Both Day and Boarding sections, are equipped with modern and fully stocked laboratories, computer rooms, libraries and access ramps for the disabled.
